Norwegian Fall

There is nothing like the fresh smell of fall.

The color combinations are like a piece of art.

Trying to catch it all.

The scenery is breathtaking and like a fairytale.

Vest: Vero Moda
Beanie: H&M
Jacket: Gina Tricot
Boots: Zara
Handbag: Vintage Chanel
Scarf: H&M

These pictures was captured on a walk through the old woods yesterday. Fall has arrived, and the colors are amazing and beautiful. We picked up a coffee, and the latest gossip, before heading back. I am in love with my new grey beanie, and need to pick up a black one as well.

The Perfect Leather Jacket

Elle: Alexa Chung

InStyle Rick Owens of Netaporter

I am still looking for that little black perfect leather jacket. You know, the one that goes from day to night, no questions asked. I love the looks of Alexa Chung and Tayler Momsen (sans the heavy makeup) they are both great choices. On my top wishlist is this Rick Owens leather jacket, in black. I wish I could justify spending that amount on a jacket, but I probably wont. I am still looking for a vintage option, and I know Zara and H&M have some good choices. But a girl can lust, cant she? What are you lusting for this fall?

Snart fredag!

Very Berry

Silk & cashmere sweater in wine from
Victoriassecret.

Blouse from Ellos in wine.

I love the rich deep wine colors that are dominant this fall. Certain pieces gives a sense of luxury and elegance. Just one piece will add instant glam to any wardrobe, and it does not have to be an expensive item. My addiction right now is nail polish in this color (see my post under for picture). I love this blouse from Ellos and the sweater (on sale) from Victoriassecret. Pair it with black leather pants, blue jeans or over a vintage flower dress for fun. Happy shopping!

Grey Matters

Grey is one of my favorite colors for fall and great
as a base in your wardrobe.

Outfit: All H&M except the vintage bracelets.
Nails: Estee Lauder black berry. Love this color!

Intervjuet kan du lese her.

So, I was interwied by the online magazine Kvinneguiden about what every woman should have in their basewardobe. I think that depends on what kind of job you have. Since I work in fashion, I can pretty much wear whatever I want, and follow my own style. However, many need to compromise. I mean, if you work in a bank, a suit is probably appropriate. But you can still add what I call "the spice". That being costume jewelry, scarves and nice shoes withouth being over the top. Those small accessories can easily show your unique personality and add some fun to any outfit.
An excerpt from the interview:
K: What is the perfect basewardrobe?

S: Black blazer, an LDB, a vintage flower dress, tees in white, grey and black, jeans, a leather jacket, a clutch, a brown and a black leather handbag for everyday use.

K: Name some things that never goes out of fashion?

S: A Chanel 2.55, a Chanel tweed jacket, a good pair of jeans, a black blazer and a LDB in a classic shape that suits your body.

K: What kind of shoes should a woman own?

S: A pair of classic black heels, tan or nude high heels and some ballerinas. A pair of leopard or red shoes will spice up any outfit and is great for those times you want to add some edge.

Favorite Picks from the Red Carpet

Olivia Wilde in Reem Acra and Marcia Cross in Elie Saab.

Sandra Oh in Oscar de la Renta and Debra Messing in
Monique Lhuillier. Photos: InStyle
My votes are in, and all of these lovely ladies above were some of my favorites. I have a soft spot for ML (as my wedding dress came from her line), and I think Rachel Zoe dressed Debra Messing very nicely in this gown. No fashion risk, but a gorgeous choice. Sandra Oh carries one of falls biggest trend, lace. I loved how the gown was so interesting and really fits her frame. Marcia Cross proves to me that she can pull almost anything of in this dress. She looks like a ballerina ready for rehersal, and yet it actually works for her. The color and the fifties frame and style is very flattering, and if you are thinking of buying something like it, go vintage. Theres nothing like an original 50s design. Last but not least, I am in love with Olivia Wilde dress. The cut, the color, the beading, its all stunning and red carpet worthy. Well done! Who was your favorite last night and why?

Emmys 2008

Photo: Elissa Love Goodkin

Photo: Wireimage. One of my favorite Emmy looks.
Sarah Jessica Parker in couture Chanel 2003.

Since we dont have any live coverage here, and its in the middle of the night our time, I have to wait until tomorrow morning to see whos wearing what and who stole the limelight this time. I love the red carpet, some stars really go all out while others never take any chances. I cant wait to see who Rachel Zoe styles this time, and some of the fabolous dresses of the runway. I am sending positive energy to my friend Elissa, whos working on the red carpet (behind the scenes) all weekend. You go girl! So tell me, who are you looking forward to see?

On My Style Radar: Sequins & Metallics

Angie Harmon in Stella McCartney and Chloe Sevigny
in Preen.
Photos: InStyle
I love everything that sparkles & shines, so of course I am all over this trend. Always on the hunt for bargains, I decided that the best way to do this trend, was to go vintage. As we speak, a 70s disco diva dress with a sequined top and a full skirt is on its way to me, courtesy of ebay. My advice for this trend, is either to go for a full dress or a cool top in the material, that you can pair with jeans or leather tights for that ultraglam rock chic look. I love how both of these ladies pull of their look, and I think a short dress like Angies goes well with a cardigan for a more daytime outfit.

Fab Friday!

Vest: Vero Moda
Jacket: Gina Tricot
Boots: Vagabond
Dress: H&M
Scarf: Vero Moda

Endelig fredag.

Finally friday. I am all in heaven with delight. Work was great and even got a minute to pick up some great Cafe Latte after lunch. I looking forward to spending the afternoon reading the newest Norwegian Elle and American Harpers Bazaar. What are you doing this friday?

Craving: YSL Tribute Sandals

Lust
Must

I am craving these YSL sandals sooo bad. But at 900 dollars the price is a little beyond what I usually spend on shoes. If you are not worried about the brand, grab these knock offs from Gojane, which I think is a steal at 24 dollars.
PS: Check out myself and all the lovely ladies with faux fur vests over at Mimisblog Great inspiration!

Nomination

From Paris this summer.

My blogg has been so lucky as to have been nominated for the magazine Costume fashionblogger award 2008! I want to thank all of you readers that keep coming back. The blogg has already exceeded my expectations of what I thought it could be, when I first started writing. I feel very fortunate to be a part of an environment of creativity, support and a passion for fashion. The blogg har brought with it some amazing opportunities for me.
My love for fashion began in my mothers amazing closet at the age of four. I loved dressing up in her 70s dresses and tall platform shoes. Whenever there was a costumeparty, I would dress up as my mum or a ballerina. From there on, I have never looked back. Our move to Los Angeles opened my eye to how to be stylish on a budget, since we did not have that much cash as students. Now, I have a great job, but I will never forget that time, as it was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. This was also the time that I started collecting vintage clothing. The beauty of a vintage item, the way its crafted and made, gets me every time. If I love it, I buy it. But of course price matters, I would have to earn millions to afford my dream closet. However, I believe I am very fortunate to have all the things I have, and to be able to afford the things I want. I also believe that dreaming makes us strive for something better, something bigger. And in my life, dreams always come true.

Rachel Zoe Project

Photo: Of Bravo
En must see for alle som elsker fashion! Anbefales!
Just finished watching the first episode of The Rachel Zoe Project and what can I say? "I die"! Her favorite expression through the show. The series is a must see for anyone who loves fashion. She meets amazing designers, her assistants are crazy in a funny way, and of course the fashion is to die for. I know a lot of people dont like her and that she creates a lot of controversy, but there is no denying that the lady has talent. You can read her blog at Bravo, where she answers some fashion questions. Tell me, are you on team Taylor or Team Brad?

Breakfast at H&M

This morning I was invited to a shopping breakfast at H&M.

We got coffee, yougurt, croissants and brownies for
breakfast, while we browsed the latest fashion and listened
to a forecast of fall fashion.

I love the grey and muted colors for fall, because
you can jazz it up with a shot of hot color.
I love how this orange scarf makes the outfit. And
if you buy it, some of the profit goes to Unicef.

The clean lines, sharp trousers and cozy sweaters are
always a hit. This is how I would like to see my husband
this fall.

Like I said, a shot of color goes a long way. These shoes
remind me of Dorothys red shoes, only pink!

Vest: Vero Moda
Boots: Acne
Shorts: Very old cut of Levis
Wool Cardigan: Gina Tricot
Scarf: Vero Moda
Handbag: Gucci

I had a very good start this morning, rushing to get to the breakfast at H&M. Got some great advice on fall colors and textures, as well as a wonderful complimentary breakfast. The highlight of course being fifty percent of any item you wanted to shop. I could not resist and got a lovely black cape for a steal. On top of that we got a nice goddy bag with tons of great stuff like a magazine, hairproducts, diet coke, lippgloss and such. Very nice indeed. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Why it is always a good time to invest

My latest investment this summer, the Gucci
handbag.

One of my first ebay purchases, vintage Christian Dior.

My vintage Chanel, also an ebay purchase.

I never think its a bad time to invest in something you love. The thing is, if you really love it, you will wear it forever. Timeless, classic pieces are the best, as they stand the test of time. My Chanel is the most classic piece in my wardrobe, and I love it for the way its gives instant style to any outfit. After spending most of my early years buying cheap things that I discarded season after season, I now look for the timeless classics that can last a lifetime. In my opinion that is vintage YSL, Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Diane von Furstenberg, Hermes, Halston and Missoni. Mulberry, Prada, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, D & G, Stella McCartney, Christian Louboutins, Brian Atwood and a few more are some of my contemporary favorites. That said, some of my most treasured vintage dresses where a steal at 20 dollars. Remember, its not about the clothes, its the person who wears them that give the outfit life and personality. You can never buy taste, its something you have or will strive to learn.

Photo Shoot

A couple of weeks ago we did a photo shoot
for the magazine. This is what I was wearing.
Jeans: Acne, Top: Carlings, Necklace: Vintage
and Shoes: Guess

We had so much fun, and as you can see, its a
great team of people behind the magazine.

I am sorry I have been missing in action for a couple of days, its all about work. I am trying to catch up on all your post this week! Its fun though, I get lots of post to read. We had fun at the photoshoot, which I thought turned out pretty well!

Almost Famous

Photobucket

Kate Hudson has an amazing sense of style. As
does her character, Miss Penny Lane.

Photos: Instyle
Elsker denne filmen.

Just spent the evening with one of my favorite movies, Almost Famous. Not only is the story very well written, it is also a great source of inspiration. Kate Hudson, aka Miss Penny Lane, plays the character to a tee, and has a very cool style in the movie-as in real life. I love the free spirit of the 70s, sans the drugs. The clothes keeps on being an inspiration to designers of today and to us, the girls who loves nothing more than to play dress up. A great evening indeed.
