I am so sorry for the bad updates, but I was just a short stop at home before heading out to Copenhagen Fashion Week, right after Stockholm. This week its Oslo Fashion Week, so I am heading to a lot of shows starting tomorrow. Fashion Week Bananas

Last week was Fashion Week in Oslo and I worked 24/7, so I am sorry there have been no updates. For my Norwegian readers, you have hopefully been following my blog at minMote. It was a great week, filled with great fashion shows and lots of inspiration. Now, I am so behind on everything, that I need to figure out what all of you have been doing! Hopefully I will be able to catch up over the weekend.

To Do or Not To Do

Til helgen kommer frisøren min til byen. Hun er ikke bare frisøren min, men en av mine beste venninner. Jeg gleder meg til å se henne, prate over litt vin og selvfølgelig diskutere håret mitt. Jeg elsker stilen til Sienna Miller i Alfie og skulle gjerne ha hatt denne looken. Det er så utrolig fresht når du kan ha litt pannelugg som her, alt blir så mye tøffere. Nå har jeg allerede hatt pannelugg en gang (men det så ikke så bra ut), derfor vet jeg ikke helt om jeg tørr. Men det er iallefall noe å tenke på til helgen kommer. Har du ikke sett Alfie, leier du den idag, om så kun får å se på klærne, sminken og håret. Lovely!

This weekend my lovely friend and hairdresser is coming to town. She is one of my best friends and I cant wait to see her, have some wine and discuss my hair. I am debating a small change, some bangs like Sienna had in the movie Alfie. However, Sienna was amazing in the clothes, the smokey makeup and the hair, but I am not so sure it will look that hot on me. You see, I had bangs before, but they were nothing like these. But I can always think about it before the weekend comes...If you have not seen the movie, you should, if only for the clothes, makeup and hair.

Den norske designeren Peter Dundas er det anerkjente motehusets Emilio Pucci sin nye designer. Og for en førstekolleksjon nordmannen viste i Milano. Motehuset har fått seg en skikkelig overhaling, og det var lite å se av deres tradisjonelle prints i de vanlige knallfargene. Litt farge hadde allikevel sneket seg inn i kolleksjonen, som bar præg av sexy rockn roll, skinn og pels. Jeg tror Dundas sin friske tak på designen er en fordel, for det ellers så tradisjonelle motehuset. I tillegg er jeg veldig stolt over at det sitter en nordmann ved roret. Hva synes du om kolleksjonen?


The Norwegian designer, Peter Dundas first collection for the Italian fashion house, Emilio Pucci is strong, sexy and a dose of rockn roll. The designer choose to stay clear of their traditional designs with prints in strong colors like turquise and yellow, and choose his own take on bringing the designs into the present. I am certain this is a great way of opening the brand up to a younger crowd. I am very proud that a Norwegian did such an amazing job. What do you think, love it or hate it?

Marisa Tomei was stunning in Versace.I think Kate Winslet owned the night and this look. The dress by Stefano Pilati for YSL, is old Hollywood, in a modern way.

I am doing a who was the best and worst dressed at the Oscars, and if you can read Norwegian, its right here. But I am guessing you cant read it, so I will expand this post a little later today and translate some of best and worsed dressed. I loved Marisa Tomeis dress and Natalie Portman, Sarah Jessica Parker looked fine, Kate Winslet was elegant while Jessica Biel looked like a disaster. Do tell me your favorites and worst dressed of the night!

I NY! Skulle ønske jeg var i New York akkurat nå og kunne løpe fra visning til visning. Tenk så gøy! Men jeg klager ikke, for jeg har virkelig the time of my life akkurat nå. Digger dette antrekket, chic selv i vinterkulden. Av visningene som har vært, synes jeg Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, Elise Øverland, Diane Von Furstenberg og Jason Wu skilte seg ut så langt. In New York! How fun it must be like running from one show to another, doing interviews and so on. But I am not complaining, because I am really having a great time here in Oslo, except from all the snow! So far my favorite shows have been Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, Elise Øverland, Diane Von Furstenberg and Jason Wu. Any favorites so far?

Fredag kveld var jeg (og 2500 andre) på Moods visning på Freias gamle sjokoladefabrikk. Som alltid hadde designerduoen en fantastisk visning med mye underholdning og moro. Kolleksjonen Coctail Travels bar preg av reise, safari, glitter og de kjente Moods dressene. Jeg hadde en favoritt og det var kjolen Charlotte Thorstvedt gikk med på det første bildet. Den er akkurat passe glam og faktisk litt uventet Moods. Hva synes dere, love it ot hate it?

Friday night I was invited to watch the most talked about fashion show every fashion week, Moods of Norway. Safe to say, the designers have been extremely succesful in branching out and being innovative in their design. They use Norwegian history as a background for their collections, which always sets a certain tone for their designs. From this collection Coctail Travels, the dress I am craving is in the first picture. It has a certain vintage appeal, and I think its slightly unexpected from the duo. Thank you for all the wonderful comments you have left me this week! I will try to get back to all of you, as I am crashed out on the couch doing as little as possible after this wonderful, but exhausting week.

Enda en photoshoot, midt i den hektiske moteuken. Uansett gikk det veldig bra, vi var et dreamteam (bare jenter) på jobb idag. Du vet du har plukket vinnere når alle jentene på settet har lyst på flere av de samme tingene(!!). Her er et lite utvalg av skoene vi brukte, og ja jeg må nok ha de kule skoene med nagler fra Bianco.

Working another photoshoot today, in the middle of Fashion Week. Above you can see some of the shoes used in the shot, and yes I am in love with those studded Bianco platforms. I just had to try them on (and they fit perfectly). I am sure many of you invested in studded belts, handbags and shoes last season and there is no need to throw them away just yet. Thanks to the dream team of girls that I worked with today. You all rock!

La meg bare si at TSH er den beste visningen jeg har sett hittil denne uken. Glamrock, latex og Rockn roll, satte scenen for Tina Steffenakk Hermansen sin vinterkolleksjon 2009. Jeg elsker antydningene til 20-tallet, såvel som den glamorøse blandet med en dose edgy design. Det er ikke for ingenting at Tina er en favoritt blant kjendisene. Hva synes dere?

Tonight I saw, in my opinion, the best fashion show so far this week (but the week is still young). The designer behind TSH decided to follow a different route this season and the result was a edgy, sexy, rockn roll vibe with references to the 20s. I am in love, are you?

Da var i igang igjen med Oslo Fashion Week. Denne gangen var åpningen lagt til den nye Operaen, som var en fashionfest verdig. Selv om jeg synes det var veldig mye bra norsk design, manglet det litt ekstra schwung over kolleksjonene denne gangen. Fretex redesign imponerte som alltid, trendvisningen synes jeg var litt kjedelig, og det ble en verdig vinner av det siste Nåløyet, FIN.
Yeasterday kicked of Oslo Fashion Week in the new Opera by the sea. The venue was a great choice, as art and fashion came together for a special night. A lot of interesting and good Norwegian design, however nothing that wowed me, but that might happen later in the week. Enjoy the pictures of Norwegian design and let me know your opinions!

Det jeg liker med denne nettsiden er de utrolige tilbudene pa kasmirgensere og cardigans. Ikke bare har de bra kvalitet, de er billige og utvalget er meget bra. Du kan bestille nesten hvilken farge du vil, og de shipper hit. Husk bare at du ma betale toll og moms(ca 33 prosent) pa varer over 200 kroner. Men med kasmir til denne prisen er det verdt det! Jeg bestilte ogsa nagleboots herfra, men de var ikke hva jeg troddde, sa de gikk rett i retur. Sjekk ut siden deres ofte, siden de har masse gode tilbud og sikkert har noe som passer for deg. Jeg bestilte blant annet denne kasmir genserkjolen i lilla, svarte og brune cardigans. Jeg bruker XS eller S, og bestilte S fra VS og det passet meg perfekt.

I love Victoriassecret. Not only do they have really affordable pieces in every color, they have great prices on cashmere cardigans and sweaters. Which by the way is really expensive in Norway. You might remember that I ordered the studded boots? Well, let me tell you they were horrible. Not comfortable at all. So, I ended up returning them, and getting some more cashmere instead. The neat thing is that this site has offers and giveaways with orders all the time, not to mention the great sales! I am so addicted, so I will recommend it to anyone who likes affordable fashion.

Weekend Update

I helgene har jeg endel faste ritualer. Er det loppemarkedsesong drar jeg pa jakt etter gamle skatter. Ellers stikker jeg alltid innom Tonica Vintage og UFF Underground, for gode deals. H&M, Zara og Vero Moda er bra for trendshopping. Jeg liker som sagt a shoppe alene, men treffer gjerne venninner til lunch. Hva er deres faste ritualer?

My weekends usually consist of a couple ingredients. Shopping, flea market bargain hunting, coffee runs or meetings friends for lunch, going out for drinks in the evenings, and relaxing on Sunday. I truly enjoy my weekends and try to make the most of each one, although they run by pretty fast. How do you girls enjoy spending your weekends?

Last Night

Var jeg på Grønland for H&M presentasjon av kolleksjonen til Comme Des Garcons for kjeden. Jeg kan røpe at plaggene er svært unike og spennende. Designer Rei Kawakubo står bak både både herre og damekolleksjonen, accessoarer og en unisex duft. Svarte og dype blåtoner, spesielle snitt og polkadottmønster preger kolleksjonen. Personlig synes jeg flere av jakkene var fine, samt en herreblazer i flott snitt og kvalitet. Jeg klarte desverre å glemme kameraet mitt hjemme i en annen jakke, så det ble ingen bilder denne gangen. Men jeg lover dere bilder fra butikken 13 november, når de legger ut kolleksjonen for salg. Kun 200 butikker i hele verden får denne kolleksjonen, så det gjelder å komme først til mølla. Hva er dine tanker? Kommer du til å være først i kø når de slipper kolleksjonen?


Last night I went to the presentation by H&M of the Comme Des Garcon in Oslo. It was exciting to see a preview of the collection designer Rei Kawakubo had designed for the chain. In some extent you can see her signature translated into more mainstream fashion which can be available to a lot more people. I liked the black and blue colors, the polkadots and some of the tailroing of the pieces. To me her pieces are fascinating and artsy, but few are really my style, obviously. However, I do think the collection will strike with the fashion forward. I am truly sorry, but I forgot my camera in another jacket, it was pouring rain and I was really in a bad mood when I got home. I am still upset that I forgot the camera, but that happens I suppose. What I wanna know is this. Its usually a big deal here in Norway about these collections. Last year I managed to get my hands on a Cavalli dress, just as I was doing a TV-piece on the madness. Yes, people get up early, stand in line and fight over it! One woman offered me 600 dollars for the dress that cost 150. So, my question is this: Will you fight to get your hands on one of these pieces? Do tell!

Igår var det åpning på Mangos nye butikk på Karl Johan. Søsteren til Penèlope Cruz, Monica Cruz var flydd inn for å kaste glans over åpningen og snakke om deres tredje kolleksjon for den spanske kjeden. Jeg var heldig nok til å få intervju henne, men hun snakket kun spansk, så vi snakket via en tolk. Det var uansett moro og hun var utrolig hyggelig og litt morsom. Hun hadde utstråling og en kul 50-tallsstil. Det var flere kjendiser som hadde tatt veien. Mira Craig, Elin Sogn og Aylar kastet også glans over eventet. Last night, the chain Mango opened a new store in Oslo. In lieu of their limited edition collection designed by the famous Cruz sisters, Monica Cruz was flown in to make an apperance. I was lucky enough to interview her and meet a lot of cool people, so I had a really nice time. Cruz was very down to earth and nice, as she spoke of their inspiration behind the collection. Her 50s style is very inspirational.

S: What are you, as sisters inspired by?

M: I get inspired by watching old movies, especially black & white 50s movies. I love to travel and go see movies in the theatre. When me and my sister (Penèlope) grew up, we used to play around in our moms closet, alwasy dressing up.

S: Describe you and your sister style, do they differ?

M: Yes, very much. I dress more like a 50s movie star and Penèlope is much more classical in her style. I like formfitting dresses and skirts, she is more into jeans and have a very relaxed style when she is not on the red carpet. Even though we are close, we have very different personalities and we dress they we way we are and feel.

S: Is there someone you look up to regarding fashion?

M: My idol is Sofia Loren (no suprise!)and I strive for her sense of style.

S: Every celebrity is designing these days. Are you not afraid that people are tired of designer collections?

M: No, I feel that our collection is different and that we know what we are doing. And it appeals to a lot of women with curves.

S: Do you sometimes feel that you are in the shadow of your sister?

M: No, I am more known in Spain, than in Europe and US, and I am working on several movies. I have a wonderful relationship with my sister and brother.

S: Whats your favorite piece in the collection?

M: I love the dress I am wearing and I also love some of the classics, so the trenchcoat is a wonderful piece. It reminds me of 50-60s glamour.
